HIGH POINT — At this week’s High Point Market, wood furniture style leader Woodbrook Designs is introducing leather upholstery for the first time since its founding in 2001.
In response to dealer requests, the company has developed several groups of sofas, modular sectional seating, accent chairs and dining chairs, as well as a sofa-sleeper.
The mostly transitional and contemporary groups, which are made in Malaysia, feature top-grain Italian leathers and a mix of solid wood frames and bases or metal legs. There are also highly textured, channeled designs as seen on a sofa and loveseat with a wide track arm and a sofa featuring a wave-inspired pattern across the seat and back.

These looks aim to complement its occasional and accent table lineup featuring woods such as suar, walnut, bamboo, teak, acacia and mango not to mention other mixed media materials such as metal, glass, acrylic and petrified wood.
“We were asked by several people to come out with the leathers they wanted, as well as exceptional craftsmanship and quality frames,” owner Terry Seitz told Home News Now.
That encouraged the company to start searching for sources in Asia, which Seitz said that he visits four to five times a year.

In developing the mix, Seitz wanted to make sure that it was diverse enough to satisfy many different customers. So those that come to its showroom at 812 Millis St. in High Point will see a mix of sofas and modular seating groups featuring deep comfortable seating, with designs ranging from saddle to track-arm construction.
In addition to the leather upholstery, the company is showcasing new dining, occasional and accent furniture.
