100,000-square-foot building allows the company to show the full breadth of the line across all categories in both new and inline product
HIGH POINT — At this week’s High Point Market, full-line furniture resource Homelegance will unveil its fully completed 100,000-square-foot showroom at 600 S. Main St.
The project, an upfit of the former Zaki Rugs building that has been in the works since November 2023, and which had a soft opening in April, is among the largest showrooms in High Point.

In April, the company occupied about 40% of the space, giving dealers a taste of what to expect moving forward. With the building now completed, it represents an opportunity to showcase the full product line across multiple categories in a facility that is more than four times the size of its previous 23,000-square-foot showroom at 212 Jacobs Place, now being occupied by Decor-Rest.
This means that customers will be able to see the full assortment with some 58 bedroom sets, close to double the 35 previously. In addition, its full upholstery line will be on display with at least 60 sets of motion and stationary, compared to about 25-30 previously. The space also includes three adjacent settings for recliners, a growing part of the motion upholstery business.
In addition, there is about 10,000 square feet of space devoted to casual dining — nearly half the size of its former showroom — plus a larger space devoted to its youth furniture line and accent chair program, to name a few other categories.
The expanded space also allows the company to show a wider mix of its case goods collections. Jamie Collins, executive vice president, said the prior showroom had very little space to showcase collections, which represent the best part of its good, better, best lineup. By comparison, laminate bedrooms fall within the good part of the line, while veneered bedrooms and dining sets fall within the better portion.
“So whole home would essentially be the best,” Collins said. “It is a higher price, but it is still a great value when you see the looks, the quality of the finishes and the details in the veneers, metal accents and hardware. … It is just another level for us. We have been doing it, but we just haven’t been able to show it. Now we can.”
The showroom also has five separate rooms for proprietary products developed for customers in certain regions or by specific major account, including department store or e-commerce customers. Previously it had no dedicated space to show this type of product, Collins said.
“This is all product that has been developed for specific purposes, not just for the general product line,” Collins said. “In some cases, those major accounts want it exclusively around the country and in others they want it exclusively in their region. Then we can display it in the main showroom once we know the direction from that customer.”
The showroom also has an outdoor patio area just off the main entrance along with an indoor dining room and a lobby area with seating surrounding a fountain that is positioned right behind the reception desk.

There also are several executive offices as well as a sales bullpen along with conference rooms where customers can meet to discuss various projects and staff can work to develop those projects. There even is a warehouse area for the intake and holding of product, another feature the previous showroom didn’t have.
With this week’s market fast approaching, workers were putting the final touches on the building late last week and through the weekend. That included filling in gaps on the floor for certain categories including dining and upholstery.
Collins believes customers will be pleased with the end result, particularly the amount of product they will get to see.
“It just shows the size of the line,” he said, adding that the good, better, best story will be fully on display, essentially offering something for everyone and more.
