by TAMPA BAY, Fla. — Industry veteran David Horvath has joined buying group AVB/BrandSource, where he is channel manager of its FTS Direct Furniture division.
He comes to the organization from retailer Queen City Homestore, where he was category manager for the retailer’s furniture segment. Before this, he was category manager for retailer W.S. Badcock and vice president of merchandising for the home segment at HHGregg.
He also was previously vice president of merchandising at Powell Co., a senior buyer at American Signature and a buyer at Art Van.
In his new role, he said, he will oversee all components of the FTS (Furniture Technology Source) Import Division.
“In my few short weeks being a part of this team, I have witnessed overwhelming passion and desire to put our member community first above all else,” he said of his joining the company earlier last month on his LinkedIn page. “So very excited to begin working on some exhilarating projects to help drive revenue for our dealers!”
