Stone & Leigh launching express-ship program at market

Upholstery manufacturer is also expanding its leather program with several new frames

MORGANTON, N.C. — Custom upholstery manufacturer Stone & Leigh is launching an express-ship program this market and also is expanding its leather program with several new frames.

In its Express Program, which will ship product in 48 hours from the time of order, the company is stocking two sofas targeted to retail around $999 and one sectional targeted to retail around $1,999. Customers also can pick up these items within 48 hours, the company said.

Made at its production facilities in Morganton, North Carolina, these items are considered bestsellers with proven track records, the company said. They also feature its Grammercy construction with Duracoil innerspring seating and down-blend accent pillows.

“We are starting to get enough production-wise on these items, and it just makes sense to get behind them a little better,” company President Jay Foscue told Home News Now, noting that the program is in its early stages and will expand over the next several markets. “It also is a way to introduce people to the line including newer customers so they don’t have to take a chance on big inventory.”

As with its custom product, these items will feature fabric produced in its Mexico cut-and-sew facility, which also produces cut-and-sew leather.

This market, the company is placing a renewed emphasis on its leather offerings, with four new sofas starting around $1,999 retail, shoring up the company’s opening price points.

These sofas will have three different types of leathers in 15 colors in its starting price points. Another 35-40 leathers will be used for special orders, Foscue noted. They also come standard with down-blend seating and also are 100% top-grain leather.

“No split, vinyl or PU is used in Stone & Leigh product,” Foscue said.

In addition to the new leather sofas, Foscue said that the company will show several new fabric offerings, noting that lead times for custom upholstery continue to be about four to six weeks.

At market, Stone & Leigh shows in Space 006 on the lower level of Centers of High Point Hamilton. In addition to sofas and sectionals, the company produces a line of loveseats, ottomans, recliners and sleeper-sofas.
