Legends Home once again hosting open-mic event at market

HIGH POINT — Full-line furniture resource Legends Home is having its traditional market open-mic event on Saturday, Oct. 25, at its showroom on the third floor of Plaza Suites.

Set to start around 5:30 p.m. and run throughout the evening, the event will feature live performances on guitar and companion keyboard. It is open to anyone in the industry (with or without musical talent) who wishes to participate.

The company has been hosting its open-mic events in High Point for about the past 15 years, dating back to when it showed in Furniture Plaza. They continued when it moved to the Commerce Wing of the International Home Furnishings Center, but were on hold for several markets because of the pandemic.

Tim Donk, left, vice president of sales operations and marketing at Legends, and retailer Jake Jabs perform at an open-mic event in the Legends showroom.

Legends resumed the open-mic events around the time it moved to its new space in 308 and 309 of Plaza Suites in the spring of 2023.

In addition to hosting and celebrating industry talent, the event will honor Jake Jabs of HNN 125 Retailer American Furniture Warehouse for his 50-plus years in the industry. Jabs, who has performed at many of the Legends events in the past, will likely sing and play once again at the event.

Drinks and hors d’oeuvres also will be served at the event.
