GREENSBORO, N.C. — Industry veteran Fred Schubert has joined full-line furniture resource Magnussen Home as vice president of product development, a new in-house position. He brings more than 25 years of experience in the furniture industry to the role and will oversee all aspects of the company’s product development strategy.

Schubert will be responsible for designing new product collections and strengthening retail partnerships. “Known for his creative approach and deep understanding of market trends, he is expected to play a key role in shaping the company’s future product direction,” the company said.
Schubert is no stranger to Magnussen. He has collaborated with the company on a freelance basis since 2006, contributing to several of its most successful collections, including some of his favorites: Calistoga, Bellamy and Ashby. He also values the strong relationships he has built with key team members, including CEO Nathan Cressman and the company’s Vietnam operation team.
“Fred has been a trusted creative partner for many years, and we are excited to have him officially join our leadership team,” Cressman said. “His expertise in both design and retail strategy makes him an invaluable asset as we continue to expand our offerings and grow in key categories.”
“It feels like getting the band back together,” Schubert said. “Joining Magnussen full time will allow me to have a greater influence on this iconic furniture brand. What makes Magnussen so special is its willingness to take creative risks. Instead of chasing trends, Magnussen sets them. That’s how real innovation happens.”
Schubert will report to President Doug Townsend and work closely with Cressman on product strategy and direction.
