UMA Home Decor names Pat Watson VP of merchandising, design

HIGH POINT — UMA Home Décor has hired industry veteran Pat Watson as vice president of merchandising and design, a new position.

Watson comes to the company from case goods importer Martin Svensson Home, where he was director of merchandising for about three years.

He also previously was vice president of merchandising at Hooker Furniture and Legacy Classic Furniture.

Watson also has served as director product development at A.R.T. Furniture and director of product development at Magnussen Home Furnishings.

In his new role, he will be responsible for developing new product across all categories including accents, dining, home entertainment and home office on the furniture side of the business, as well as home décor, wall art, wall décor, lighting and storage pieces.

“I have known Pat for a long time, and he is really good at what he does,” said Andy Stein, chief executive officer noting that the duo also will bring their expertise in furniture to the realm of lighting and décor. “It is exciting for us to join forces and collaborate on product. … It’s a refreshing spin for us.”
