HIGH POINT — Delays in construction are preventing Theodore Alexander from showing in its new showroom building in the design district here this market.
The luxury furniture resource was planning to show in its new space at 425 N. Hamilton St. at the spring High Point Market, which runs from April 26-30. However delays in obtaining the necessary permits and approvals delayed the final construction and set up, so it won’t be able to show in the space until the October market.
This market it will resume showing at its former location at 229 Russell Ave., where it expects to complete its product set up by the end of this coming weekend.
“We thought it would be done, but it was down to the wire,” said Ed Teplitz, company president. “We had to make a decision a couple of weeks ago so we could get ready. So we just decided we will show in the old building and it will look great and we will be in the new building in October.”
By extending its lease in the building on Russell for this final market in the space, the company will be able to show new product it planned to show in the new building on Hamilton.
This includes a new collection by Alexa Hampton and its new St. James collection that is an extension of its Lord Spencer line. There even will be a teaser of a bedroom being offered in another Lord Spencer collection called Coronet that will have a full launch in the new building in October.
At this market, the company also will have a party starting around 6 p.m. Friday evening April 25 to celebrate the unveiling of its newest Alexa Hampton collection.
And for those who mistakenly go to the new space at market, there will be a number on the building for the Theodore Alexander shuttle service that will transport them to the showroom on Russell Avenue.
