Product and people seen at October High Point Market

Home News Now got started covering the High Point Market early this season as it headed downtown more than a week before the official opening. Throughout the next 11 days, we went to dozens of showrooms as well as market parties that drew crowds from around the industry. The pace, as always, is frenzied, but the end result is positive in that we get to see hundreds of new products and meet up with many industry contacts and friends. Below is a glimpse at what we captured at this market in and outside the showrooms for one of the industry’s biggest events of the year.

The Products

This bed is part of the Tide & Timber collection seen at Vaughan-Bassett. It is available in eight different fabrics and four different wood stains for the wood treatment.

The Uma showroom featured a mix of accents, accessories, lighting, mirrors and indoor and outdoor furniture, including these Adirondack chairs shown in this vignette.

The Brighton bedroom by Napa Furniture Design is made with solid mindi and is shown in a dry Driftwood finish. The bed retails around $1,599.

The Goliath sofa and loveseat group is one of about 16 new upholstery groups launched this market by Chinese manufacturer Henglin Home Furnishings. The group, which retails from $1,999 to $2,199, features a loveseat with a console that can charge three devices.

This sofa is part of the Hollywood upholstery group by Legends Home. Shown in a gray fabric, it retails from $599 to $699.

This dining set is part of the Calia collection, launched under Bernards’ Apex division this past market. Made with eucalyptus veneers, a table and four chairs retails around $1,399.

This living room vignette is part of the Field & Stream Home collection by Best Home Furnishings. It is shown with a motion sofa, two swivel chairs, an accent chair and a cocktail and end table.

American Woodcrafters showed this metal bed which is part of its Modern Farmhouse collection. Shown in a black finish, it retails at $899 in queen.

The Chelsea sectional by Abbyson is covered in 100% polyester fabric and retails around $1,499.

Mexican manufacturer Meximuebles showed the Bristol Avenue TV console at market. Made with solid pine, the 65-inch-wide unit features high-low wood treatment in a radial pattern seen on the doors. It retails from $399 to $499.

The Legacy bedroom by Durham Furniture is made with solid maple and is shown in a black wood finish. The bed retails around $3,500.

The Curva bedroom by West Bros. is made with solid white oak and is shown here in a Cappucchino finish. The shelter bed retails at $3,900.

This bedroom set is part of the La Costa collection by Lexington Home Brands. Made with hickory veneers in a warm brown finish, it retails at $3,679.

This desk is part of the Montreux collection by Sligh. Made with white oak veneers, it is shown with a companion media console.

This accent cabinet by Dorel features a fluted design around an arched door front. Made with blond oak veneers, each individual unit retails at $199.

Coaster Fine Furniture showed its Arini dining set, which features a wire brushed natural wood finish on white oak veneers. It also has a metal trestle base in an Antique Brass finish. A table and six chairs retails at $2,199.

Winter was in the air at RW Collective, which had a seasonal display around this desk, accent chair and ottoman. As a retailer, the company looks for ways to inspire other dealers in the art of showroom presentation.

Bellini Modern Living showed its Bristol sectional, which features heavy tufted seating and is shown in a Green nubuck material. Made in Italy, it retails around $4,999.

Spectra Home showed its Denise sofa alongside the Henry chair, part of the Tamara Day collection. The sofa is shown in a textured slate fabric.

Meridian Furniture showed this $999 marble occasional table alongside its Orian chaise, which retails at $899.

The Gladstone console by Arteriors has an oak top in a Smoke wood finish and a metal base in a Carbon Iron finish.

This 66-inch executive desk by Mavin is made with solid oak in a cerused Rye finish. Featuring a drop-down center drawer and wire management, it retails at $2,995.

Shown here is the Berta sofa by Enza Home. It retails from $599 to $699.

These frames are part of Rowe Furniture’s Express Delivery program which includes several sofas, sectionals, swivel chairs and swivel gliders.

The Bellevue bedroom by Flexsteel is made with poplar solids and cherry veneers in a Dry Whiskey finish. The bed retails at $999 with the wood headboard shown here. In fabric it retails at $1,199.

This bedroom by Furniture of America is made with oak veneers and poplar solids in a light Gray finish. Design elements include this sunburst pattern on the headboard and zinc alloy nickel brushed hardware.

The 7033 dining set and companion display cabinet is one of several new collections by wood furniture resource Thirty One | Twenty One Home, a division of Magnussen Home. Made with AAA grade French Oak, it has rustic modern design influences.

This sectional by Nice Link Home Furnishings features a boucle/chenille fabric and retails from $1,699 to $1,999. It is among the company’s Vietnam-made upholstery frames.

The Garland dining collection by Steve Silver includes these two table and chair sets, a regular height rectangular footprint and a gathering height set. It is made with oak veneers in a light oak finish.

People and Places

Lifestyle Enterprise held a retirement party for executive James Riddle, who has been in the industry for some 50 years, including about 20 years at Lifestyle.
