Introduction of more than 120 SKUs includes a relaunch of its popular Jupe table line
WILSON, N.C. — Luxury furniture resource Sarreid Ltd. is introducing some 120 new pieces this market, continuing an aggressive product development that offers a mix of styles, finishes and new pieces, including the reengineering and reintroduction of its Jupe dining tables.
Jupe tables are circular dining tables with a segmented top that can be expanded for larger groups. Named after the inventor, Theodore Alexander Robert Jupe, who patented the design in 1835, they feature pie-shaped pieces that can be pulled out and positioned as leaves when the table is opened. The leaves can be stored beneath the table surface when it is closed.
The company said that relaunch of the Jupe dining collection features an innovative construction and materials story that includes updated materials such as extruded aluminum that decreases the weight of the table by 30% when compared with the former wood-on-wood mechanism. In addition to making the tables lighter, the aluminum mechanism helps ensure a smoother assembly and expandability feature, the company noted.
“For decades, the Jupe tables have been a cherished staple in our collection, admired for their elegance and versatility,” said Brad Cates, chief executive officer of Sarreid Ltd., noting that there is a patent pending for the design. “Yet, we saw an opportunity to reinvent them, blending classic charm with modern advancements. This October, we are proud to unveil our reinvented Jupe tables, a culmination of meticulous design and advanced manufacturing techniques. While the essence of the Jupe tables remains true to their original inspiration, every detail has been thoughtfully reimagined.”
The reinvented Jupe tables are available in Sarreid’s bestselling styles, “showcasing the brand’s unwavering standards of design and craftsmanship.” Three of these will be at market in the company’s showroom in Space 3D of the C&D building downtown.
Cates also noted that the new tables feature a round shape when closed and a subtly arched, soft sand-dollar shape when open. He added that the tables have levelers so that the table can be made to be level on an uneven floor surface.
“We have taken small things that are problematic and corrected them,” he told Home News Now, adding that with the lesser weight, the tables can be moved by two men versus three to four previously.
Other categories the company will be showing this market include bedroom, dining, living room and occasional, noted Steadman Lanier, director of marketing and social media at Sarreid. About 20% of the introductions are in leather seating.
She noted in addition to its traditional leather colors, Sarreid is adding Rouge, Cappuccino, White, Britain Green and modern shades of Gray. She said the company also has expanded its Signature Shagreen collection.
“The launch of fashion colors last market was such a success, and we plan to introduce Shagreen wall mirrors in a variety of chic colors as well as some occasional pieces,” she said.
Cates added that the mix of introductions this time will lean more toward wood product as the last couple of markets have been heavier in leather.
“That has been strategic because leather has been doing very well for us,” he said. “This time it is heaver in case goods.”
He also said that a high 90% of the product mix will be in-stock for market, meaning customers can order from inventory as well as goods that are on the water.
“We will not be introducing anything that doesn’t have stock to back it up,” Cates said. “We want to push the boundaries where we can. We are finding our own niche and ordering with more and more confidence.”
At market, the company also is holding a panel discussion titled “Radical Honesty: The Real Real on Making the Designer/Sales Rep Relationship Unbreakable.”
This will be held at 3 p.m. Oct. 26 and features the following participants:
