LAS VEGAS — Case goods manufacturer Vaughan-Bassett Furniture is returning to the Las Vegas Market for the first time since August 2011, ending a 15-year absence that coincides with its recent success in selling more accounts in the western half of the country.
The company will show in a small space in the temporaries on the eighth floor of Building B. In that space, it will showcase four to five of its bestselling bedroom groups along with a dining set. The mix will include both veneered product and product in its solid wood Artisan & Post line, including a solid maple bedroom that is part of its licensed Erin & Ben collection.

These will be seen in settings that include a bed rack showcasing different bed styles and finishes available, along with a nightstand and chest.
“It is a chance for us to take our best collections out to Las Vegas and have a display where our customers can touch and feel it and get exposed to it in a way where you just can’t do justice to it with pictures and sales tools on the road,” said Doug Bassett, president.
He said this and the January show represent a one-year commitment that will allow the company to test the market out again before deciding on whether to have a longer-term presence.

“We have picked up some business in the last year or so that is west of the Mississippi, but we know that we are missing a few dealers that rarely come to the High Point Market,” Bassett added. “Plenty of them do, but plenty of them don’t. To be exposed to more Mountain and Pacific time zone dealers in particular is what we wanted to do.”
He said that all of the company’s reps from the Mountain and Pacific time zones will be at the show, along with some from the Eastern and Central time zones as well. Company Vice President of Sales Chris Taylor also will be at the show for about five days, and Bassett said he also plans to be there for the first few days of the show.
