Banner House opens new Vietnam office, showroom and design studio

GREENSBORO, N.C. Banner House, the newly curated portfolio of renowned brands, including Magnussen Home, Pulaski Furniture, Kincaid Furniture and American Drew, has opened a new 13,000-square-foot office, showroom and design studio in Vietnam.

Situated closer to Ho Chi Minh city than its former office, the new location is still easily accessible to factories in both Binh Duong and Dong Nai, according to Tan Johnson, vice president of Asia operations and administration for Banner House. The building, located at 106 My Phuoc Tan Van Street, is divided into offices for more than 40 employees on the first floor, with a showroom on the mezzanine, and a photo and design studio with finish panels, hardware, fabrics, stone, and other material selections on the second floor.

According to Doug Townsend, president of Banner House, the main showroom includes a hospitality area for customers, and the top two floors can also be converted to additional showroom space as needed.

“In acquiring Pulaski, American Drew and Kincaid, we’ve had to grow our Asian organization to over 100 employees, and the new offices provide a modern, comfortable working space for the Banner House employees doing administrative, supply chain and product development work in support of our corporate offices in the U.S. and Canada,” Townsend said.

The new, larger showroom, design and photo studio were created to support collaboration on product development reviews with larger customers who travel to Asia, as well as improve the quality and speed to market of imagery for sales purposes.

Banner House expanded its Asia distribution center earlier this year, boosting capacity of its humidity and temperature-controlled Ho Chi Minh warehouse to over 225,000 square feet. In addition to all of Magnussen’s bedroom and dining groups, and most of its occasional groups, the warehouse also now features Pulaski Furniture’s best-selling collections and curios.

“Product from both the brands is now shipping on mixed containers, allowing our dealers to buy a variety of products without having to commit to large quantities of single items,” Townsend said. “At a time when all retailers are looking to keep tight controls on expenses and working capital, while still making doors swing, this allows them to bring in smaller quantities of different products and styles to keep their floors fresh, all while managing their inventory and lowering their risk.”

“In the near future, we will also be adding Kincaid and American Drew’s best sellers to the Vietnam warehouse, at which point customers will be able to mix all of the Banner House brands in one container,” Townsend said.
