Deal was the result of Sound Sleep’s recent merger with Idaho-based Everton Mattress
WOBURN, Massachusetts — Top 20 U.S. bedding manufacturer Spring Air International has added Lacey, Washington-based Sound Sleep, a well-respected Pacific Northwest producer, as its newest domestic licensee.
The deal was the result of Sound Sleep’s recent merger with Idaho-based Everton Mattress, which carried the flag for Spring Air in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Nevada, Utah, Wyoming and Montana for the past several years. The new company is known as Everton Mattress Factory Northwest.
“We are happy for Sound Sleep and Everton Mattress joining together to create a real juggernaut in a very strategic region of the country. We look forward to working with John Larsen, Chris Sanders and their respective teams to deepen the penetration of our brand in their territory,” said Spring Air International President and CEO Nick Bates.
Sound Sleep has played a central role in the Pacific Northwest sleep products industry for more than 30 years under the leadership of John Larsen. He is credited with building a strong independent manufacturing business known for its service and quality.
“Acquiring an interest in Everton Mattress made perfect sense due to the tremendous synergy between our companies. Combining forces to capitalize on the best of Sound Sleep and Everton Mattress makes us both stronger and creates a regional powerhouse—enabling us to utilize the sales and marketing expertise of Chris Sanders, while expanding distribution and improving service to all customers in the region while consolidating redundant functions,” said Larsen, chief executive officer of Sound Sleep.
“Strategically, it strengthens our manufacturing capabilities, fuels product innovation, and expands the Spring Air presence throughout the Pacific Northwest,” said Sanders, co-owner of Everton Mattress Northwest. “Aligning with a trusted partner like John Larsen—and his highly skilled, experienced team—positions us to better serve the evolving needs of our retail partners and customers, while honoring our 100-year legacy of quality, value and integrity. This collaboration allows us to scale more efficiently, invest in our people and processes and drive growth in factory operations through enhanced quality, consistency and pricing. Our retail partnerships will thrive as a result of this milestone.”
Everton Mattress Factory began as a small bedding company in Logan, Utah, in 1924. With continued growth, it now occupies an 80,000-square-foot facility in Filer, Idaho.
