GALAX, Va. — Wood furniture manufacturer Vaughan-Bassett Furniture Co. has hired industry veteran Chris Taylor as its national sales manager.
He started the new role on March 17.

In this role, Taylor succeeds industry veteran Jeff Arthur, who is retiring at the end of the April High Point Market as vice president and national sales manager, a position he has held for the past six and a half years.
Before joining Vaughan-Bassett, Arthur previously served in various executive-level sales, marketing and merchandising positions at well-known furniture resources including Henredon, Durham Furniture, Maitland-Smith and Theodore Alexander dating back to the mid-1980s.
Taylor comes to the company from Ashley licensee 1915 South, where he had been a regional manager for the past three and a half years. Before this, he was vice president of sales and before that, vice president of operations at Guardian Protection Products for about seven and a half years.
He also was previously director of sales for the furniture and rent-to-own accounts at Protect-A-Bed and before that was Southeastern regional sales manager for Guardian Protection Products for just over seven years, while also serving as national accounts manager for about two years of that period.
Earlier in his career, he was a regional account manager at InFurniture magazine and before that was director of new media development and a regional account manager at Furniture Today.
In his new position, he reports to Vaughan-Bassett President Doug Bassett.
