Seating resource is developing several new SKUs that also offer companion ottomans
HIGH POINT — Looking to gain market share in a category that others have abandoned, BenchMaster Furniture is expanding its line of glider rockers.
The company, which specializes in recliners, recliners with ottomans and zero-gravity recliners, launched two of the glider rockers this past spring.
Based on the success of those initial models, the company is launching four additional frames at the October market, which retail from $799 to $1,099.
Available in 12 fabrics, 18 top-grain leathers and seven glove-soft leathers, these are sold with companion ottomans, offering additional comfort for customers ranging from young mothers with infants and toddlers to older adults seeking the functionality and style that these pieces offer for any room in the home.
The company decided to develop the units in response to other companies exiting the category. Thus far, it has found a positive reception from retailers that have sold the category in the past and are looking to add new models to their floors.
“In the ever-evolving world of furniture design, BenchMaster Furniture is positioning itself as a key player with the timely launch of its new Glider Rocker collection,” the company said, adding, “As manufacturers have either exited the market or shut down operations, BenchMaster has seized the moment to fill the gap and address the needs of today’s consumers and retail partners alike.”
One of the models is available from the company’s domestic warehouse operations in Los Angeles and Chicago, and the others are available on mixed containers direct from China. With a container holding about 164 of the units, the company is accepting minimum order quantities of roughly 20 of each model, although customers can order more to fill up a container.
“We can ship all six if we get a minimum order quantity of 20,” said Emmy Chen, president, adding that the custom fabrics and leathers allow customers to create their own unique look for each model.
“BenchMaster’s new Glider Rocker collection is more than just a replacement for what’s missing,” the company added in its marketing materials. “Designed with today’s customers in mind, comfort, aesthetics and functionality are blended in sleek new designs. This new assortment offers modern designs that seamlessly integrate into various home environments, from minimalist urban lofts to cozy suburban family rooms. The fall 2024 collection reflects current trends in both interior design and consumer preferences with a wide range of fabrics, leathers and wood finishes available.”
At market, the new models along with the two original models can be seen in the company’s recently expanded High Point showroom in Space 303 of Furniture Plaza.
