Launch includes 50 pieces of wood furniture and custom upholstery available in more than 100 fabrics and leathers
HERNING, Denmark — Lifestyle Danish retailer BoConcept is launching its latest collection on Sept. 1, offering some 50 pieces including custom upholstery that is available in more than 100 fabrics and leathers.
The line includes channeled sofas offered in multiple sizes as well as two different sized poufs/ottomans. The company also has updated a couple of its existing seating lines to complement the styles of the new pieces.
Among the groups being updated is the Indivi sofa line which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. In addition to being available in multiple fabrics, it also can be customized with different arm and leg options, noted Kalina Todorova, BoConcept global visual merchandising manager.
“It is one of our most popular sofas and we’re really happy to celebrate its 25th anniversary this fall with a new and refreshed look,” she said, noting that this is an average-size collection for the retailer as compared to previous lines.
A two-seater version of the Indivi sofa retails at $999, and the new Bellagio sofa featuring channel stitching starts at $3,159.
On the wood side, introductions include the Santiago dining collection. Key pieces include a round extendable dining table with a self-storing leaf and beveled pedestal that retails at $3,999. The dining segment also features the Santiago sideboard, which comes in two different sizes starting at $3,299.
Both the dining table and the sideboard feature marble ceramic tops. The bases of the table and sideboard are available in dark and natural oak finishes, and the marble tops are available in white and brown colorations. They also come with dark or natural oak tops as an option.
The dining table is shown with the new wood-frame Seoul dining chair starting at $899. Also available in dark and natural oak finishes, as well as matte black, the chair also comes with a wood or an upholstered seat.
Other key pieces include:
+ The Hauge bar stools, available in counter and bar height and featuring a low-back seat that comes in a variety of fabrics. It also features a wood and wire base.
+ The Tivoli cocktail tables feature a concrete interior construction and a travertine finish made to appear like natural stone
+ The Bornholm cocktail table is being reintroduced and available in new white, brown and ash gray ceramic options.
+ The Southampton sofa bed features slim armrests and is scaled for smaller space/urban living environments. A matching poof on casters has storage for a duvet and pillows along with a chaise lounge option with storage for blankets.
While individual pieces feature their own unique design elements, a big focus of the fall collection is mixed media and color, not to mention customization.
“It can be individualized and personalized depending on the needs of the consumer,” Todorova said of the finish, wood, marble and fabric options.
She added that new fabrics also have a color story that contrasts with more neutral tones shown on more recent designs.
Highlights of the new fabric selections include:
+ The Capri fabric, which is made with 100% recycled polyester and is EcoTech certified.
+ The Tuscany fabric features velvet tones “that exude warmth and luxury.”
+ The Avellino Italian fabric is available in red, golden beige, green and dusty blue tones.
+ The Nordic leather comes in burgundy, caramel, stone and dark brown tones.
“Overall, I think there will be a lot of inspiration in the showroom in September,” she said. “This season we also are working with a lot more color compared to the last few seasons. I think there was a period when tone-on-tone was the main trend. Now we are seeing a lot more interest in color. And that’s what we will be seeing throughout the showrooms. We also are restyling and refreshing some of the existing settings. So there definitely will be a nice fresh inspiration for the fall.”
This is the third major collection that BoConcept has launched this year. In the spring, it launched its Nawabari collection developed in conjunction with Danish architect and designer Jacob Lange of architecture firm Bjarke Ingels Group. Also in the spring, it launched several other new pieces including its bestselling Kingston dining table and several other dining and cocktail tables and its Hamilton chair in a Natural Oak finish and the new Tilburg recliner in two different versions, including one with an adjustable headrest, together with a matching footstool.
