Furniture Manufacturing Expo set for July 20-21 in Hickory, North Carolina

HICKORY, N.C. – The fifth edition of the Furniture Manufacturing Expo will be held here from July 20-21, promising to be the biggest event yet for the show.

The show will feature more than 100 exhibitors, with 23 new exhibitors on tap from last years event, Lorie Gross, show director said.

Held at the Hickory Metro Convention Center, it will feature a wide mix of equipment and machinery suppliers as well as technology, financial and logistics services for the home furnishings industry.

“This is the best representation of the market that we have had,” she told Home News Now. “It is going to be a great show. It has something for every aspect of the process of manufacturing furniture.”

The event also includes some international representation with companies from Italy and Turkey among those with booths at the show, she noted.

In addition, the show features an educational component that includes three segments or tracks as opposed to a single track program previously.

For example, a  Woodworking Track sponsored by the North Carolina State Wood Products Extension, includes three sessions on day one and three sessions on day two.

An Upholstery Track sponsored by the National Upholstery Association, includes four sessions on day one and three on day two.

A third Technology Track is being sponsored by Home News Now. It includes three sessions on day one and three also on day two.

Gross said while the previous track offered good content and information, attendees sought more and the Expo responded with a multi-track offering that provides attendees the benefit of additional information related to specific niches of the business.
