HIGH POINT – Magnussen Home Furnishings has named industry veteran Christopher De Lisa senior vice president, sales, a new position.
He comes to the company from Universal Furniture, where he worked for just over 10 years, as vice president, sales and vice president sales for the Eastern Region. He started at Universal as a sales professional and team leader, a role he held for just over six years.
Before joining Universal, he was president of De Lisa Power Systems LLC for nearly 13 years.
He also was previously vice president, sales and marketing at Cory 1st Choice Home Delivery and was vice president, sales at Home Line Industries. Before that he was a territory manager at Standard Furniture Manufacturing and a regional sales representative at Albany Industries.
Before that he was president at retailer M.S.O. Furniture, where he worked for nearly 12 years.
He also has been a former president, vice president and treasurer at the International Home Furnishings Representatives Association and was president of the Greater New York Home Furnishings Association for just over two years.
In his new role, De Lisa reports to Nathan Cressman, CEO at Magnussen Home Furnishings.
De Lisa told Home News Now he is looking forward to working at a company that he believes has built such a great team and that continues to grow by “leaps and bounds,” while also positioning itself for further growth over the next several years.
“Nathan has a lot of good people he is surrounding himself with,” he said in reference to recent hires that include industry veterans Adam Tilley and Eric Graham.
He added that he looks forward to working with the team and also working at a company with a strong logistics and supply chain network in place to serve its customers. “They are doing a lot of things right…This is going to be a good run in our industry that is going to come down to who gets you furniture the easiest,” he said.
