HFA promotes Williams to COO

ROSEVILLE, Calif. — The Home Furnishings Assn. has promoted Shannon Williams to chief operating officer, a new position.

Williams’ responsibilities include oversight of staff leadership, financial operations and the planning, execution and strategy of all association initiatives. Previously vice president of strategy and performance, she joined HFA in June of 2018 as director of the membership team before taking on partnerships and marketing.

Under her leadership, HFA has signed more than 200 new members so far in 2020 — 30% more than the previous best year on record, the group said.

“Her skills in strategy, innovation and team building were obvious from the start,” said Mark Schumacher, who joined the association as executive vice president at the same time as Williams and was promoted CEO this summer following former CEO Sharron Bradley’s retirement.
