Legacy Classic | Modern launching standalone casual dining program

The groups being shown during the spring market cycle are largely transitional in styling to suit the casual design preferences of today’s consumers

HIGH POINT — Full-line furniture resource Legacy Classic | Modern is launching a new standalone casual dining program at the April High Point Market that offers multiple dining options for various home types and sizes.

At premarket this past week, the company showed eight groups retailing from $999 to $1,699 for a table and four chairs.

Largely transitional in styling to suit the casual design preferences of today’s consumers, these offer a mix of regular-height leg and trestle-base table options with five of the eight offering counter-height table options. Regular-height tables seat anywhere from eight to 10 comfortably while counter-height tables seat six to eight.

The Winslow dining set is made with oak veneers in a mid-tone natural oak finish.

There also are a mix of dining chair styles, and each set comes with a credenza.

Sourced in Vietnam, this is the first major standalone casual dining program the company has offered since its standalone dining collections produced in Bangladesh many years back.

The Calloway dining set is made with oak veneers in a burnished oak finish.

The company said that reaction to the program was positive at premarket and that dealers who did not attend premarket can see the sets at the Legacy showroom at 2622 Uwharrie Road during the April market.

The company continues to showcase larger-scale dining sets as part of its collections, including its two newest introductions, Maren and Seraphina, both shown at premarket. Dining that is offered as part of its collection business typically includes two or three table options, multiple chair styles, plus side pieces.

The Caldwell dining set is made with birch veneers in an espresso finish.

Christopher Phillips, director of marketing, told Home News Now that the standalone casual dining segment continues to evolve, “but never really goes away. The timing is good as consumers look for smaller-scaled dining options that work in newer open concepts and smaller, older homes and even townhomes and apartments.”

The new standalone sets are expected to ship by Aug. 1, in time for the fall selling season.

The Briarwood dining set shown here features a counter-height table with a storage base. It is made with oak veneers and shown in a sable finish.
