Bozeman, Montana: Home of Gibson Acoustic, Music Villa and now — Arhaus

12,000-square-foot store in Gallatin Crossing is the lifestyle retailer’s first in the state

BOZEMAN, Mont. — Gibson Acoustic, Music Villa and now – finally – Arhaus.

These landmarks in music — one a guitar manufacturer and the other a legendary musical instrument store — and last but not least furniture retailing — are now part of this community pop. 58,000 just under two hours north of Yellowstone National Park.

And for anyone else with an interest in industry and local lore, Bozeman is also the home of Montana State University, the alma mater of industry icon Bob Maricich. It also happens to be where another industry legend, Jake Jabs, had a music store where he also taught guitar lessons before turning to a full-time career in furniture retailing with Englewood, Colorado-based American Furniture Warehouse.

Now Bozeman holds the title of the HNN 125 retailer’s first store in Montana. The new 12,000-square-foot store is in Gallatin Crossing, which Arhaus describes as “Bozeman’s premier shopping and lifestyle destination surrounded by sweeping mountain views.”

Inside the new Arhaus Bozeman, Montana, store.

“Blending seamlessly with Bozeman’s spirit of craftsmanship, outdoor living, and appreciation for natural beauty, the showroom features a curated assortment of Arhaus furniture and décor for clients to experience in person,” the company continues. “Each piece reflects the brand’s passion for natural materials — celebrating wood, stone, and other textures that bring warmth and authenticity to every space — and captures the rugged yet refined aesthetic that defines Montana’s lifestyle.”

“Bozeman has a remarkable sense of place — where design and the outdoors are wholly intertwined,” echoes John Reed, Arhaus co-founder and chief executive officer. “Our passion for natural materials, craftsmanship, and enduring design makes this an incredibly special community for us to join. We’re honored to bring Arhaus to Montana and look forward to helping clients create spaces that feel both timeless and deeply connected to the beauty that surrounds them.”

The company also noted that the Bozeman showroom offers complimentary design services to clients, “extending a helping hand on home projects of any scale. Whether reviving a single space or furnishing an entire home, Arhaus’ team of seasoned interior designers and design consultants is ready to provide guidance both in store and virtually.”

On this note, we respectfully suggest that given Bozeman’s famous musical heritage, that the new Arhaus store feature a stage area where local and even national musical artists and performers can showcase their talents. Open mic nights can also a popular way to celebrate that heritage. Could be a nice way to draw a crowd, not just for musical talent, but also poetry and fiction readings and even wine tastings.

Another suggestion is an occasional appearance and talk by Montana native Bob Maricich himself, who has been known to returns to the state on fishing trips. Surely Bob would have some great insights into furniture design and fashion given his long history in the industry!

We also should mention Arhaus for its ongoing philanthropic efforts, including its $10,000 contribution to the Habitat for Humanity of Gallatin Valley “to help families build or improve their homes in the community.” More information on  Humanity of Gallatin Valley, can be found at HabitatBozeman.org.

Editor’s Note: In no way should Tom Russell’s mention of legendary music store Music Villa be construed as an effort to get his next guitar from there at a steep discount! However, he might accept any all-expense-paid invitation Arhaus offers for him to perform at any open mic nights the retailer decides to hold at its new Bozeman store in the future!
