Products seen at premarket

HIGH POINT — Last week, Home News Now spent a couple of days visiting showrooms throughout downtown High Point during premarket. The visits gave us a chance to see both new products and some things we had missed from the previous market, both in case goods and upholstery. The photos below capture some of the mix of things that retailers may have seen themselves over the course of their own visits.

The Hyde power motion sectional by Universal Furniture was designed by Rick Lovegrove, vice president of upholstery. The Hyde design is available as a sectional, two-seater sofa and a stand-alone chair. To save space in functionality, Hyde uses zero-wall mechanisms, and the controls are scaled down to just two buttons. It also features loose seat and back cushions.

This dining set is part of A.R.T. Furniture’s Harbor collection. It is made with prima-vera veneers and is shown here in a mid-tone brown finish. It also features turned legs and chairs with a shaped ladderback design.

This bed is part of Vaughan-Bassett Furniture Co.’s Lodge & Loft collection. Made with oak veneers, this bed features an inset vegan leather headboard and footboard. It retails at $1,299.

These are some of the new accent and occasional pieces in Hooker Furnishings’ Melange collection. Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, the pieces highlight the company’s capabilities in mixed media, including fabric, glass and metal, and reverse antiqued mirrored glass.

Elements International was highlighting some of its domestic upholstery in its High Point showroom. Produced by its Style Line division, it offers a U.S.-made alternative that may be attractive to many buyers dealing with tariffs from China and other parts of the world.

Bassett Furniture showcased its domestic BenchMade program, which features these table and chair sets made with solid maple harvested in the Appalachian region. This market, the program is offering new tables with self-storing leaves, including the sets seen here.

Urban Design Collective showcased a number of living room sets made in Mexico. The goal was to highlight the capabilities of its manufacturing partners and the lifestyle looks they can create and ship in relatively quick lead times compared to Asia.

This panel bed is part of the Country Living licensed collection by Legacy Classic | Modern. Launched last market, it is shipping now. It features about 60 silhouettes including this poster panel bed. However, there are up to 200 silhouettes counting the finish options on oak and birch that include Barnwood, Kettle Black and Picket Fence, along with accent finishes including Mallard Green, Northern Moss and Spiced Apple.
