CPSC said units violate the performance and warning label requirements of the STURDY Act
WASHINGTON — A Chinese manufacturer that does business in the U.S. as Sejov has recalled 900 five-drawer chests that are unstable if not anchored to the wall, posing a tip-over hazard to children.
While no incidents or injuries have been reported, the company has received two reports of the units being unstable, according to the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission. This can result in injuries and death to children as the units also violate the performance and warning label requirements of the STURDY (Stop Tip-Overs of Unstable Risky Dressers on Youth) Act, the CPSC noted.

The recall involves the wooden Sejov five-drawer clothing storage units sold in white and black finishes and featuring gold-colored round knobs and elevated legs. Measuring about 36 inches tall, 29 inches wide and 15 ¾ inches deep, their SKU numbers are SPG0000905N, SPG0000905BN, SPG0000905B or SPG0000905, which appear on the product packaging.
Made in China, they were sold into the U.S. by Dongguanshi Yanxiang Keji Youxiangongsi, dba Sejov, of China. In the U.S., they were sold online at Amazon.com from September 2023 through August 2024 for between $100 and $180.
The CPSC has advised consumers to stop using the recalled dressers immediately if they are not properly anchored to a wall. They also should be placed in an area of the home that children cannot access.
Consumers also can contact Sejov for instructions on how to receive a full refund and submit a photo of themselves disposing of the product. Amazon also is contacting all known purchasers of the product directly.
For more information, consumers can call Sejov at 800-331-9670 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, email at SEJOVrecall@aliyun.com or go online to https://sejov.com/pages/us-recall or https://sejov.com and click “Recall” at the top of the page.
