HIGH POINT — Science in Design announces its upcoming keynote presentation, “Creating Health-Based Design — Beauty, Neuroaesthetics and Biophilia: A Virtual Showhouse,” debuting at the April High Point Market in partnership with the High Point Market Authority. The presentation will be held at 3 p.m. April 26 at the High Point Theater.
As a recognized authority in neuroaesthetics and biophilic design within the home furnishings industry, Science in Design continues to advance a powerful vision — one where science, beauty, health and human well-being are seamlessly united.

This groundbreaking keynote introduces the industry’s first-ever Virtual Designer Showhouse, presenting residential spaces envisioned through the lens of neuroaesthetics and biophilic design. Science in Design is honored to collaborate with internationally recognized architectural firm BSB Design, known for its innovation, creativity and deep understanding of human needs. Michelle George, BSB Design national director of innovation, will provide the architectural expertise needed for the project.
Participating designers include the distinguished Angela Harris, Kat Blue, Erica McLain, Marie Cloud and Gabrielle Kozhukh-Joo. All designers are Science in Design Certified.
“We’re thrilled to partner with the High Point Market Authority to share research that clearly shows how design measurably improves human health,” said Mike Peterson, founder of Science in Design. “This is more than a keynote — it’s an invitation to reimagine the future of design, retail and manufacturing through a health-focused lens.”
Drawing on research from institutions such as Johns Hopkins University, the Penn Center for Neuroaesthetics and more, the presentation explores how interior environments support health and well-being through evidence-based design strategies rooted in neuroscience and nature-inspired principles.
Important Note: For those interested in learning about neuroaesthetics prior to market, Science in Design will host an exclusive introductory session on the science of neuroaesthetics at noon ET on April 16. This special event will orient designers to the principles that inform the Virtual Showhouse and provide a foundation for deeper exploration. Registration is available via Eventbrite.
High Point Market is open to the home furnishings trade only. A valid spring market pass is required for entry.
