Deco USA acquires assets of UMA Home Decor

Line will be sold under the Deco Marché brand

ERLANGER, Ky. — Home furnishings resource Deco USA has told dealers it has acquired various assets of UMA Home Decor and will be operating under the Deco Marché brand.

The June 3 letter, a copy of which was sent to Home News Now, identifies the company as a “technology-driven product and logistics partner specializing in home décor and furniture. Deco Marché’s mission is to deliver a curated assortment of globally sourced home furnishings with fast fulfillment and seamless back-end support.”

The letter also said that the company is relocating its primary warehouse operations from Chino, California, to Erlanger. The relocation aims to enhance the company’s national logistics footprint and improve delivery times across the U.S.

The move comes nearly two months after UMA Home Décor announced it was rebranding the company to UMA Home. As part of the rebranding, it sought to establish itself as a full-line resource that offered its customers a broad mix of furniture including dining, home entertainment and occasional, and home office, as well as vanities, accent tables, upholstered accent seating and accent storage pieces.

At the April High Point Market, the mostly wood furniture line was marketed under the Stein & Watson collection, named for UMA Home Décor CEO Andy Stein and Pat Watson, vice president of merchandising and product design. Stein joined the company last summer, and Watson joined the company earlier this year.

Stein said that neither he nor his team at UMA Home were offered positions at Deco USA. Watson said he was offered a position at the company but declined the offer.

On its LinkedIn profile, Deco Marché said it is “built on the legacy of UMA Home Decor into a tech-forward home decor platform. Our heritage in product, combined with new digital tools, empowers retailers through endless aisle content, drop-ship fulfillment and scalable merchandising.” Through this model, product would be sold through dealer websites and shipped directly to consumers’ homes.

In its letter to dealers, the company noted the following:

+ All open orders are being processed as scheduled.

+ Inventory, pricing and product availability remain unchanged.

+ Account management and customer care teams have been hired by Deco USA LLC and “will provide reliable service.”

The letter also noted that the company offers a “broad selection of furniture and décor “curated to fit your style needs.” This selection can be found on its website, www.decomarche.com.

Home News Now has reached out to the company for additional comment and will update this story as more information becomes available.
