Conn’s announces closure of 71 locations in 13 states

THE WOODLANDS, Texas — After weeks of rumors and speculation, Conn’s has announced it is closing 71 locations in 13 states.

These represent just over 40% of the retailer’s 175 locations in 15 states as of late 2023.

Sister company Badcock Home Furniture and More is slated to close 35 locations in seven states or just over 9% of its total store count, which included 65 corporate locations and 310 independent dealers at the time that Conn’s purchased the company in December 2023.

For Conn’s Florida will see the biggest impact with 18 planned closings, followed by Texas with nine; Arizona with 7, Colorado and Louisiana each with six; and Virginia with five.

Another four stores will close in each of the following states, North Carolina, Oklahoma and Tennessee, followed by South Carolina with three, Georgia and Mississippi with two store closings each and one in Alabama.

Badcock store closings are slated to occur in the following states with Tennessee closing nine; North Carolina and Alabama closing seven each, Georgia closing five, Virginia closing four, Florida closing two and South Carolina closing one.
