Room & Board opens first Austin store

AUSTIN — Room & Board a 12,000-square-foot furniture showroom here today, extending its reach with this second Texas location.

The showroom in the Domain Northside lifestyle center at 3200 Palm Way, Suite 170 will feature “a balance of inspirational room settings, home décor items and a design center offering inspired, personalized design experience,” and an open layout with lots of natural light to  highlight the retailer’s artisan-crafted furnishings and home décor. The design will be similar to the company’s Dallas location features in the photos with this story.

The Austin location has seven non-commissioned design associates and a retail market manager. Free design services are available for any project or budget,  including virtual video design appointments.

“We know our Austin store will be well-received because the people here share our passion for  environmental responsibility, sustainability, timeless design and home décor,” Market Manager-Austin Jessica Harrison, said in a release. “This is a vibrant, stimulating city with a thriving economy. We are here to stay; Austin is our new home.”

The Minneapolis-based Top 100 company, which emphasizes sustainable and U.S.-made goods designed exclusively for the brand, first noted plans for the store, its 21st, this past summer.

In the release, Harrison said the Austin showroom supports Room & Board’s growth strategy to expand into markets  where its customer base is strong, as well as introducing the brand to a new population of customers who  value modern, American-made home furnishings. It already has more than 7,700 existing customers, which it previously has said it develops through its other locations and online presence.
