AICO “All-Stars” raise more than $90k in Walk for Hope event benefiting City of Hope

DUARTE, Calif. — On Sunday, November 2nd, 51 members of the “AICO All-Stars” team joined in the annual Walk for Hope on the campus of City of Hope in Duarte, CA. Each year, thousands of participants—survivors, families, friends, and supporters—gather on the scenic hospital grounds to walk together in celebration of hope, courage, and progress in cancer research.

More than just a fundraiser, the Walk for Hope embodies the spirit of unity and determination, bringing people together to honor loved ones and advance the fight against cancer. This year’s event in Duarte recorded over 12,000 participants. The AICO team is comprised of staff members along with family and close friends and is led by team captain and retired AICO president, Martin Ploy.

Ploy said, “Our team is proud to continue its steadfast commitment to the Walk for Hope, raising more than $90,000 this year in support of City of Hope’s groundbreaking efforts to defeat cancer. This achievement reflects our shared dedication to advancing cancer research and inspiring others to stand with us in this critical mission.”

The Walk for Hope event provides funds to support City of Hope’s efforts to advance breakthrough scientific research, develop new therapies and improve patient care. With a growing network of cancer centers across the U.S., City of Hope continues to expand access to high-quality, research-driven care and bringnew hope to people facing life-threatening illnesses. Aside from Duarte, there were Walk for Hope events held in Atlanta, Chicago, Phoenix, and Irvine, CA with the total funds raised so far at $3.3 million.

“We’ve been very fortunate to receive donations from many of AICO’s dealers and other industry friends.” Added Ploy, “the tremendous support from Michael Amini and the AICO family have made the AICO All-Stars the most consistent and best fundraising team. Over the past fifteen years we have raised over $575,000 to help City of Hope continue their life saving research.”
