CPSC announces recall of 11,200 dressers sold online because of tip-over hazard

Agency said units are unstable if not anchored to the wall and also do not meet the requirements of the STURDY Act aimed at creating safer clothing storage units

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced the recall of 11,200 dressers sold online at Amazon, Walmart, Wayfair and other e-commerce retailers because of a tip-over hazard that can harm children.

Although no injuries or incidents had been reported as of the Sept. 18 recall announcement, the CPSC said the units are unstable if they are not anchored to the wall, which can result in tip-over and entrapment hazards that can cause serious injuries or death to children.

The CPSC also said the units do not to meet the mandatory standard required by the STURDY Act.

The recall involves the EnHomee fabric 13-drawer dressers which are 55.12 inches wide, by 35.45 inches high by 11.02 inches deep. They come in rustic brown, white, black and pink finishes.

Made in China by Changzhou Jiaxuan Intelligent Furniture Co. Ltd., they were sold online at Amazon, Walmart, Wayfair, Shein, TikTok, Shopify and Temu from September 2023 through March 2025 in rustic brown for between $75 and $120. The white, black and pink units were sold from September 2023 through May 2024.

The CPSC has advised consumers to immediately “stop using the recalled dressers if they are not anchored to a wall and place them in an area where children cannot access them.”

To receive a full refund, consumers should contact EnHomee for instructions on how to identify and dispose of affected dressers. Consumers also must submit a photo of the disposed dresser to enhomeestore@gmail.com.

Knowledge of the recall helps retailers and suppliers alike understand the dangers involving tip-overs of clothing storage units and how they can avoid similar recalls affecting their business.

This type of recall also alerts consumers about the dangers of clothing storage units that do not meet the requirements of the STURDY Act and the types of questions they need to ask retailers involving the safety of similar units on their floors.
