Null Furniture announces plans to close after more than 50 years in business

As it winds down operations, it continues to sell remaining inventory from its warehouse

HICKORY, N.C. — Null Furniture, a long-standing family-owned producer of occasional and accent tables, has announced it will be closing after more than 50 years in business.

In a recent statement shared on Facebook, the company wrote:

“After many years in the furniture industry, we have made the difficult decision to close Null Furniture.”

Founded in the 1970s, Null Furniture became known across the industry for its small-scale, stylish occasional tables designed to fit modern living spaces. The company carved out a niche by combining quality craftsmanship with a commitment to personal service — operating for decades with just two full-time employees while maintaining a visible presence at the High Point Market.

Leadership of the company was shared by siblings Aaron Williams and Nina Sadowski, who became co-CEOs after joining the business in the 1990s. Williams oversaw product development and e-commerce, while Sadowski managed sales, customer service and finance. Together, they maintained the company’s focus on thoughtfully scaled furniture that resonated with both retailers and consumers.

As Null Furniture winds down operations, the company is continuing to sell remaining inventory through its warehouse. Contact information and additional details remain available through its website, nullfurniture.com.

“This business has been more than furniture — it’s been about relationships, trust and community,” the company said on its Facebook page. “Your support has allowed us to grow, give back and create memories that will last a lifetime. As we wind down operations, we still have inventory available in our warehouse, and we’d be honored if you’d continue to support us during this transition. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being part of our story. You’ll always be part of the Null family.
