Execs no longer with the company include Caroline Hipple, Scott Kanaly and Becky Weber
MARTINSVILLE, Va. — Hooker Furnishings has eliminated several high-level positions, including that of Caroline Hipple, who has been with the company for the past year as chief creative officer.
The company described the move as a strategic alignment in response to continued headwinds in the home furnishings market “to better position the organization for current business realities.”
In addition to Hipple, the company has let go Becky Weber, senior vice president of merchandising and product development, and Scot Kanaly, vice president of sales, domestic upholstery, along with various supporting staff.
“We appreciate the contributions of these individuals and wish them the best as they move forward with other opportunities,” said Jeremy Hoff, chief executive officer.
Weber has been with the company for the past two years, and Kanaly joined the company last April.
The company said that other individuals the company had brought on during a reorganization last year, including William Doherty, director of business development, and Jeff Behmer, executive vice president of case goods merchandising, remain with the company.
