CPSC announces 5 recalls involving nearly 15,000 clothing storage units in the 1st week of February

Although no injuries have been reported, the agency said the units can tip over and harm children and older adults if not anchored to the wall

WASHINGTON — During the first week of February, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall of nearly 15,000 clothing storage units that pose tip-over risks to children and older adults.

While no injuries or incidents have been reported, the recalls, all announced Feb. 5, involve five individual products that the CPSC said are unstable if they are not anchored to the wall. They also violate the safety standards as required by the STURDY (Stop Tip-Overs of Risky Dressers on Youth) Act.

With each unit, consumers have been advised to immediately stop using the recalled clothing storage units if they are not anchored to the wall and move them to an area that children cannot access.

The Yitahome chest

The largest of these involves 6,800 Yitahome, Uforic, Dextrus, Yintatech and ModFusion-branded dressers. Made in China, they were sold on Amazon.com and Walmart.com from September 2023 through August 2025 for between $75 and $100.

The CPSC said these 16-drawer dressers were sold in gray, black, white, pink and brown finishes and have a black or white metal frame, a wooden top and collapsible fabric drawers. They also measure about 37.4 inches long, 11.8 inches wide and 57.1 inches tall and have the following SKU numbers — FTBFSD-0161, FTBFSD-0162, FTBFSD-0212, FTBFSD-0246 or SKU FTBFSD-0465 — which are printed on labels on the dresser’s top panel and on the product packaging.

To receive a full refund, consumers should write “RECALL” on the dressers using a permanent marker, disassemble them and submit a photo of the disposed product to yitamotor@outlook.com.

The second largest recall involves the EnHomee 10-drawer dressers, which were made in China and sold on Amazon.com from September 2023 through December 2025 for about $115.

Sold in black, white, gray and brown, they also have a metal frame, wooden top, 10 collapsible fabric drawers and two metal drawers. They are 38 inches long by 11.8 inches wide by 48.1 inches tall, and the model number “55SCWMSCXLBR” can be found on the order information within the individual’s Amazon account.

For a full refund, consumers should contact EnHomee for instructions on how to identify the affected units and dispose of the dressers. They also must submit a photo to enhomeestore@gmail.com showing themselves disposing of the product.

The third recall involves about 2,900 Fixwal seven-drawer dressers made in China and sold on Amazon.com from September 2023 through December 2025 for about $100. They come in black and white finishes and feature a metal frame, wooden top and seven collapsible fabric drawers. The dressers measure 55.1 inches long by 11.8 inches wide by 31.5 inches tall.

For a full refund, consumers have been instructed to write “RECALLED” on the front, side and back of the dresser with a permanent marker, take photos and email them to fixwaldresserrecall@outlook.com.

The fourth recall involves some 600 Shintenchi six-drawer dressers made in China and sold on Amazon.com from July 2025 through August 2025 for about $130.

The six-drawer Shintenchi dresser

Sold in a white finish, they have six wooden drawers and golden metal feet and measure about 15.7 inches deep by 47.2 inches wide by 30.5 inches high. The identifying code “SHX12077-WH” is embossed on the underside of the dresser at the top of one metal foot and also on the product packaging.

For a full refund, consumers should contact Shintenchi for instructions on how to dispose of the units. They also must submit a photo showing the disposal of the units to ShintenchiRecall@hotmail.com.

The final recall with the smallest number of units is for 50 Furnulem five-drawer dressers that were also made in China and sold on Amazon.com in July 2025 for about $140.

Two different views of the five-drawer Furnulem chest.

The CPSC said the wooden dressers came in a white finish and measure about 31.5 inches tall, 15.75 inches long and 50.2 inches wide. Each drawer has two round pull knobs, and they also feature recessed power outlets on the top. The CPSC also noted that only dressers that did not come with feet extensions are included in this recall. Model “HK-DS-017-CL-5D-1-W” also is printed on the packaging.

To receive a full refund, consumers should contact Furnulem for instructions on how to dispose of the dressers. They also should send a photo demonstrating disposal of the product to support@furnulem.com.

These and other recent recalls involving clothing storage units show how the CPSC is being aggressive about units that violate the STURDY Act and that are dangerous to children and older adults if they are not anchored to the wall.

Thus, retailers wanting to avoid a similar situation or a tip-over incident involving an injury or death should make sure their suppliers and manufacturing partners are adhering to the provisions of the STURDY Act. It’s one way of making sure the units are safe before putting them on the floor and can avoid potential devastation for customers and their families.
