Agency said that the units featuring collapsible fabric drawers are unstable if not anchored to the wall and also do not meet the requirements of the STURDY Act
WASHINGTON — In mid- to late December, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall of more than 24,000 dressers with collapsible fabric drawers sold on various marketplaces that pose tip-over and entrapment hazards that can injure and kill children.
Although no injuries or incidents were reported, the agency said that the recalled units are unstable if they are not anchored to the wall, which could result in possible tip-over incidents. These typically occur when children climb on the unit to reach something in one of the upper drawers or on the top of the dresser or chest.
The CPSC also said each of the dressers violates the mandatory standard as required by the STURDY Act.

The largest of the recalls, announced Dec. 18, involved 16,800 Furnulem eight-drawer dressers sold on Amazon from September 2023 through November 2025 for about $80.
According to a product description on the CPSC website, they were sold in black, brown and white and measure about 13.8 inches long by 45 inches wide by 29.7 inches tall. They also have a metal frame, a wooden top with recessed power outlets and eight collapsible fabric drawers. Printed on the packaging is model “DS-0148D003.”
The agency also advised consumers to immediately stop using the recalled units if they are not anchored to the wall and to move them to an area that children cannot access. To receive a full refund, consumers must submit a photo showing them disposing of the product to support@furnulem.com. They can also address any questions regarding the recall or how to dispose of the product at the same address. They can also reach Furnulem collect at 310-227-9560 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. PT Monday through Friday.

A recall also announced Dec. 18 involved 4,740 KKL fabric nine-drawer dressers. Made in China, these also were sold on Amazon from September 2023 through November 2025 for about $100. According to a product description, the recalled dressers were sold in black, brown and white and have a metal frame, wooden top with recessed power outlets, and nine collapsible fabric drawers. They measure 37.8 inches long by 11.8 inches wide by 53.9 inches tall.
The CPSC also advised consumers to stop using the units immediately if they are not anchored to the wall and place them in an area that children cannot access. To receive a full refund, consumers must submit a photo of themselves disposing of the product to support-us@kkl-home.com. They also can email the company at this address for further information about the recall or how to dispose of the product.

The third recall involves 2,800 17 Stories Furniture 18-drawer dressers. Also made in China, they were sold on Wayfair.com from September 2023 through November 2025 for about $100.
According to a product description, the recalled dressers were sold in black, brown and gray and have a metal frame, a wooden top and 18 collapsible fabric drawers. They also are identified by SKU numbers HI1382_13, HI1382_01 or HI1382_09, which are printed on a label located the outer packaging of the product.
To receive a full refund, consumers also must submit a photo of themselves disposing of the product to Drawer18Recall@outlook.com. They also can email the company at this address for further information about the recall or how to dispose of the product.
Once again, the recalls show the potential danger not only of units with fabric drawer construction, but other types of clothing storage units that do not meet the requirements of the STURDY Act. Thus it behooves retailers to make sure the product they are purchasing for their floors is safe unless they wish to have their name associated with a product recall, or worse still, an incident that harms a child.
