HICKORY, N.C. — Home News Now has learned that sister leather upholstery manufacturers Leathercraft and Our House Designs are no longer in business.
According to a greeting on the companies’ shared phone system, the businesses have permanently closed their doors.
Home News Now has reached out to Our House Designs President Parker Maricich for further comment and details about the closing, which sources said they were told occurred on Aug. 31.
The company, however, is still taking messages and answering questions from customers through its voice-mail system. Home News Now also left a message with the company on this answering system and is awaiting a response.
Upholstery manufacturer Our House Designs acquired Leathercraft in January 2024, a move that at the time saved the company from going out of business. Started in 1952, Leathercraft is said to be among the oldest, if not the oldest, leather upholstery manufacturer in the U.S.
