Taylor King implements price increase for orders placed on or after July 14

The increase replaces the company’s baseline tariff surcharge and China tariff surcharge so that pricing is consistent with how Taylor King priced orders previously

TAYLORSVILLE, N.C. — Custom luxury upholstery manufacturer Taylor King is implanting a price increase that took effect July 14.

The company said that although tariff rates are still under a 90-day pause for most countries, the company has published a new price list that will be in effect for all orders received on or after that date.

In May, the company implemented a 4% surcharge and an additional 4% surcharge for China-made fabrics, which brought the total for China-made fabrics to 8%.

“This surcharge helped us offset price increases we were getting from suppliers until a meaningful price increase that reflects the additional costs we’ve absorbed could be completed,” said President Nicole Rogers Bailey in a letter to customers dated June 26. “This proved beneficial as we were able to decrease the initial China tariff once a 90-day pause was announced.”

“Although we are still under the 90-day pause for tariff negotiations for most countries, a new price list is being published now and will be in effect for all orders received on or after Monday, July 14th, 2025,” she added, noting that the price increase replaces both the company’s baseline tariff surcharge and China tariff surcharge “so that pricing is consistent with how Taylor King priced orders prior to the spring 2025 tariff surcharges.”

She added that its cut yardage price calculation will return to grade +6 for all fabrics in the line.

“Thank you on behalf of our factory and sales teams for your continued partnership!” she said. “We appreciate your business and friendship!”

Taylor King manufactures a full line of upholstery including sofas, sectionals, settees, reclining sofas and chairs, as well as dining chairs, bar stools, ottomans, benches and accent chairs, to name several core categories. It also produces beds, sofa-sleepers, chaises and swivel chairs.
