She had served in the position for just over a year, succeeding former chief executive Mark Schumacher
HIGH POINT — The Home Furnishings Association has alerted its membership that former CEO Shannon Williams is no longer with the organization.

In a letter to members, David Koehler, president of the board of directors and chairman of Laurel, Delaware-based Johnny Janosik World of Furniture & Mattresses, said that the “board appreciates her many contributions and wishes her the very best in her future endeavors.”
Williams had been CEO since June 1 of last year.
In his letter, Koehler said that the change has been announced to all HFA staff and that the organization is communicating the change to “all of our outside partners who support the organization.”
He also noted that the organization is in the process of identifying a new CEO, “for the NAHFA team to continue our mission to serve you, our members. Thank you for your membership and support of this great organization. Our goal is to use this time of transition to become an even greater asset to the retail home furnishings community.”
Williams succeeded former CEO Mark Schumacher, who left the organization in May of last year. She had previously worked for the HFA since 2018 in a number of roles, including chief operating officer, a position she held prior to being named to succeed Schumacher.
