Omnia Leather says new Slofa is best-sitting and easiest-to-operate sofa-sleeper

CHINO, Calif. — Omnia Leather, a leading upholstery maker based here, showed off the newest sofa-sleeper technology at the recent High Point Market with the introduction of the Slofa Collection.

According to Bruce Birnbach, the company’s chief strategy officer, the mission when creating the Slofa Collection was to provide the industry with the best-sitting, easiest-to-operate sleeper program that was also easy for retail salespeople to present.

To help achieve that objective, Birnbach said the company searched outside the United States to find a mechanism that would impact the premium sleeper market. “Having found that, we are excited to introduce the ‘Slofa-A Remarkable Sleeper Sofa,'” he said.

With a tagline of “easy to use and easy to snooze,” the Slofa features a solid platform bed, with no bars in your back, which was designed to maximize comfort for both sitting and sleeping. Based on the overwhelming reaction at the High Point Market, the company accomplished its goal, Birnbach said.

A collection of seven styles all retail for approximately $3,000 and are available in king, queen or full in over 75 fabrics and leathers, said Katherine Skinner, chief merchant for Omnia.

Storage chaises are also available, and Omnia has chosen to quickly ship the entire program with next-truck delivery in a variety of cover choices. In addition, all special orders will be made in the United States and shipped in four to five weeks.

“Simplicity in the selling process is the goal, so we have a one-price sales story supported by a comprehensive retail tear sheet that can function as an order form,” Skinner said. “We have also created the Program’s website — https://slofasleeper.com — which allows you to drape the product in any fabric or leather, as well as print out that pertinent information at retail for the consumer. The app is mobile-friendly and easy to navigate. Additionally, we have a portfolio of photography to support retail advertising,” Skinner said.

Omnia CEO Peter Zolferino added, “The reception in High Point was everything we had hoped for and more. We were excited to see so many new retailers get exposed to the Omnia brand.”

The company also said that based on the positive reaction at High Point, Omnia will continue to build out this program at future markets and will feature the entire collection at the January Las Vegas Market in their space, Building A-256.
