Meridian Furniture surpasses 11,000 SKUs in product portfolio

NEW YORK – Meridian Furniture, a fast-growing furniture brand producing ever-changing, high-style designs, has hit a new milestone in product diversity, surpassing 11,000 SKU’s as it heads toward this Fall’s High Point Market.

Driving Meridian’s SKU count higher, the brand is adding tabletop accessories for the first time, expanding its assortment of marble occasional tables available in six different marble colors, and continuing to add to its best-selling modular upholstery and dining collections.

With a goal of becoming a whole home resource, the product development team innovates more than 500 new trend-right designs per year and is carving out a unique position with retailers and interior designers with its large assortment of high-quality, first-to-market modern furniture and accessories designs across multiple categories. Setting Meridian apart is that most of its items are available for immediate order in multiple colors, sizes, fabrics, and finish options with more than 90 percent of its goods in-stock and available for immediate delivery at any given time.

“A lot of our SKU’s are modular, so we are able to increase the product selection without adding as many design elements,” said Matt Rosilio, chief executive, and creative director of Meridian. “As example, we’ll design one bed and it will be available in four sizes and five colors, which drives the SKU count up.”

Continuing the brand’s dedication to an in-stock position, the company designs new product year-round and does not rely on the traditional spring/fall trade show cycle to introduce its new designs.

“We feel strongly about our design choices and are committed to bringing in products ahead of each Market,” the executive said. “If the product is in our showroom, it is also already available via our website and ready for order. If it is displayed in our showroom (IHFC-C403), it is not a sample; it’s real product that is already in production, on the way to our 400,000-square-foot warehouse in New Jersey, or it is already in stock. Retailers and designers aren’t waiting for six months to receive their goods, but rather days.”

Indeed, at a time when retailers have been struggling to drive door swings, it’s critical to stand out in the marketplace with product that can’t be shopped at a competitor down the street and to be able to make changes quickly to keep assortments fresh and evolving.

“The size and diversity of our assortment, and the number of colorways we offer per item, ensures that dealers can choose goods that add pop and excitement to their floors and do it fast,” said Michael Rosilio, president of Meridian Furniture. “Our business model centers around speed to market and that’s something our customers appreciate.”
