Riverside promotes Iasiello to president

Henjes remains CEO, chairman

FORT SMITH, Ark. — Riverside Furniture has promoted industry veteran John Iasiello to president and in the expanded role, will focus on setting the strategic vision for sales, marketing and product development for the case goods resource.

Iasiello has been with the company for three years, serving as senior vice president of strategic planning and business development and most recently as senior vice president of sales, marketing and product development. Fred Henjes, who held the president post, will continue as CEO and Chairman. 

“It’s clear that, at this exciting time of growth for Riverside, John is the right person to take on the role of President,” Henjes said in a statement. “John is highly recognizable in the furniture industry and is a person of integrity with great listening skills and merchandising and product development talent.

Iasiello began his furniture industry career in merchandising management roles with retailers Huffman Koos, Federated Department Stores and Breuners, before serving in management and senior management positions with companies including Natuzzi, Broyhill, A.R.T. and Emerald Home Furnishings.

While Iasiello’s role is expanding at Riverside, Henjes said his own role will not change and that he’ll remain active every day.

“With all the many projects we have underway, such as the renovation of the historic YMCA on Main Street in High Point to create a state-of-the-art showroom and product development center, and the new North Carolina distribution center, John will help us get our arms around everything,” he said.

Riverside now has three primary executive officers. In addition to Henjes and Iasiello in key roles, Beth Brown fills the chief financial officer chief operating officer position.

“Riverside has a talented team, and my role will be to grow the business and team,” Iasiello said .

“I believe Riverside is in a great position to build on the challenges of 2020 with relentless implementation of strategy.”

Fort Smith, Arkansas-based Riverside Furniture is a leading supplier of high-fashion, mid-priced quality bedroom, dining room, home office, home theater and occasional furniture.
