CPSC announces recall of canopy beds sold on Costco.com

Manufacturer has received 5 reports of bed beam collapsing, including 4 that have resulted in injuries

WASINGTON — The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced the recall of 5,600 canopy beds whose beams can collapse, causing a potential injury hazard to consumers. Another 516 of the beds were sold in Canada, the agency said.

The agency said that manufacturer Samson International has received five reports of the bed canopy collapsing. These include five reports of consumers being struck by the canopy beam and four resulting in shoulder and head contusion injuries.

The recall involves the Samson International canopy bed frames sold under the Broadmoor brand name, including the Bellevue and Oaklynn models sold in king and queen sizes. They bear the model numbers M24109230, M24109240 (Bellevue Queen and King) and M24107230, M24107240 (Oaklynn Queen and King). The name “Samson International” and the model number are printed on the manufacturing label on the inside of the bed frame on the right-hand side when looking from the foot of the bed.

The CPSC said they were made in Vietnam and sold on Costco.com from October 2024 through February 2026 for between $900 and $1,000.

Consumers have been advised to keep the bed frames in place and contact Samson International immediately for a free repair and installation kit that includes four metal brackets and mounting hardware.
