Vaughan-Bassett expands upholstered offerings

At market this week, company is showing accent and dining chairs in 12 custom fabrics

HIGH POINT — Bedroom furniture manufacturer Vaughan-Bassett continues to expand the soft side of its business with a new custom accent and dining chair line available in multiple fabrics.

The company already has a custom upholstered bed line featuring several models that are available in multiple fabric options.

The new domestic accent and dining chair program takes this to the next level with an arm and side chair available in 12 different performance fabrics.

These are the dining and accent chairs shown in all 12 fabrics.

Starting at $679 retail, they can be used as accent or dining chairs and also feature a castered or leg option.

At its showroom on the fourth floor of 336 S. Main St., it is displaying the chairs in all 12 fabrics on risers and also is showing a striped patter a dining table. For customers that want to set up a gallery display in their stores, the company will pay for the risers, which show the chairs in all the different fabrics in a roughly 50-square-foot area.

As the chairs do not feature exposed wood, the focus is on the custom fabrics. As a result, the chairs can be shown with any type of dining table, regardless of the shape or finish of the table.

The chairs also will be kept in inventory, which will allow them to be shipped in 72 hours.

“We’ve already sold it,” company CEO Wyatt Bassett told Home News Now adding that the chairs can be delivered to peoples’ homes in a few weeks or less. “We think it will be great. The importers don’t offer much custom or have it in stock.”

He added that domestic upholstery resources primarily focus on living room upholstery versus accent or dining chairs.

“Nor do they offer immediate shipment,” he added, noting that for retailers, “This is a great way to get traffic and to give customers choices and options.”
