Lifestyle Enterprise expands into solid wood bedroom

The Dovetail collection includes a single bedroom and dining set, which at market can be seen in the company’s new showroom at 100 E. Green Drive

HIGH POINT —At the upcoming High Point Market, Lifestyle Enterprise is introducing its first solid wood furniture collection as part of a strategy to further diversify the materials and construction story of its wood furniture mix.

Produced in Bangladesh, the Dovetail collection includes a single bedroom and dining set made with solid Asian hardwood called Hevea, a tropical species also known as rubberwood. The name Dovetail comes from the dovetail joinery seen on the edges of case pieces.

The company said this strategic move comes “in response to ongoing global economic challenges and the impact of tariffs on case goods manufacturing. By diversifying production across multiple regions, Lifestyle continues to strengthen its supply chain while ensuring long-term stability, cost management and reliable product availability.”

This is the bedroom Lifestyle is showing as part of its solid wood Dovetail collection.

Derrick Ng, president of Lifestyle Enterprise, told Home News Now that the factory producing the collection has a long history in producing furniture.

And while Bangladesh faces a 20% tariff similar to Vietnam, the company said “it offers a competitive and efficient production base. Expanding into Bangladesh supports Lifestyle’s broader goal of balancing production worldwide, aligning with industry leaders such as Home Depot and Walmart, who seek to limit reliance on any single country to no more than 10% of their total business.”

“Our mission is to bring the best possible value to our customers while maintaining the quality they expect,” Ng said. “By introducing Hevea solid wood furniture from Bangladesh, we are expanding our better goods assortment and giving our retail partners a durable, stylish and competitively priced option that adds strength to their product mix.”

Factoring in tariffs, a queen bed in Dovetail retails at $799 and a four-piece set retails at $1,999. This compares with a typical veneer set out of Vietnam featuring a $499 to $699 bed and four-pieces retailing from $1,499 to $1,799.

Starting prices in the good segment of its business include paper/veneer bedrooms from Malaysia, with beds that retail from $199 to $399 and four-piece sets that retail from $799 to $1,399.

The company decided to show the solid wood line as a single collection to start off. Based on reaction from buyers, it plans to develop additional sets to launch at future markets.

Available on container-direct shipments from Asia, the collection is expected to ship before Chinese New Year and hit retail floors sometime late in the first quarter.

During the Oct. 26-30 High Point Market, the company will show the Dovetail bedroom and dining collection at its new High Point showroom at 100 E Green Drive.
