Agency said they are unstable if not anchored to the wall and also violate the mandatory federal safety standard for clothing storage units
WASHINGTON — The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced the recall of 630 chests sold on walmart.com that pose a tip-over hazard that can harm children.
While no incidents have been reported, the CPSC said the Gunaito 10-drawer chests are unstable if not anchored to the wall, posing “serious tip-over and entrapment hazards that can result in injuries or death to children.” The CPSC said the dressers also violate the mandatory standard as required by the STURDY Act.

The agency said the items involved in the recall come in brown and white finishes. They also have a metal frame, a wooden top, 10 collapsing fabric drawers of different sizes with pull knobs, and four side pockets. They are about 39 inches by 39 inches by 12 inches and weigh about 30 pounds. They are identified with codes “HD006BN-SLCD” or “HD006WH-SLCD,” which are printed on the product packaging.
Made in China by Changzhou Hengze Home Furnishing Co. Ltd., they were sold on walmart.com from December 2024 through August 2025 for about $70.
The recall alerts the industry of the types of hazards that the CPSC is identifying in the marketplace regarding clothing storage units, thus letting suppliers, retailers and consumers know what questions they should be asking about such items. Retailers, in particular, should be asking suppliers whether the units are compliant with STURDY in order to avoid potentially dangerous incidents in the home involving products they sell.
The CPSC has advised consumers to stop using the recalled items immediately if they are not anchored to the wall and also suggests placing them in an area that children cannot access.
They also can contact Gunaito for instructions on how to dispose of the dressers to receive a full refund. To receive a refund, they must submit a photo showing them disposing of the product to gunaito10recall@outlook.com.
