Bexco recalls 9,030 recliner and swivel gliders because of overheating hazard

USB charging ports in the arm of the units can overheat and spark, potentially causing injury to consumers

WASHINGTON — The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced the recall of 9,030 recliner and swivel gliders because of an overheating hazard. Another six units were sold in Canada.

The Babyletto Kiwi swivel chair with the charging port that can overheat circled in red.

The recall involves Bexco Enterprises’ Babyletto Kiwi fabric-covered recliner and glider chairs featuring two USB device charging ports. While no fires or property damage have been reported, the CPSC said that Bexco has received 37 reports of incidents of overheating, smoking or sparking including one minor injury.

Made in China, the units were imported by Bexco Enterprises of Pico Rivera, California, and sold at Crate Kids and online at Babyletto.com, Amazon.com, Babylist.com, Target.com, Pottery Barn Kids.com, Wayfair.com and other websites from May 2023 through February 2025 for about $800.

The CPSC said the chair, which was sold in different color fabrics, is 29 inches wide by 36 inches deep and 41 inches high and weighs approximately 125 pounds. Units included in the recall include these production colors, SKUs and batch numbers.

The batch numbers can be found on a white label underneath the chair’s footrest.

Consumers have been advised to immediately stop using the recalled recliners and contact Babyletto for a free repair kit. They can register at babylettorecall.com/ to receive their free repair kit along with installation instructions. After completing the repair, the CPSC has advised consumers to dispose of the original USB module in their household trash.

For additional information, consumers can visit Babyletto online at www.babylettorecall.com or www.babyletto.com and click “Product Recalls” at the bottom of the page. Or they can email to kiwi.recall@babyletto.com or call the company toll-free at 866-621-9483 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. PT Monday through Friday.
