CPSC announces recall of 6,600 clothing storage units sold on Amazon

SEATTLE — The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced the recall of 6,600 clothing storage units sold on Amazon because of a tip-over hazard that can injure or kill children.

While no incidents or injuries have been reported, the agency said the units are unstable if not anchored to the wall, “posing serious tip-over and entrapment hazards that can result in injuries or death to children.” It also said the units violated the federal safety standard required by the STURDY (Stop Tip-Overs of Risky Dressers on Youth) Act.

The recall involves the WLIVE Fabric 15-drawer chests manufactured by Jiangsu Zhi Pai Furniture Manufacturing Co. Ltd. of China. They were sold on Amazon from April 2024 through May 2025 for about $110, the CPSC said.

The agency said the framed units have 15 fabric drawers and are about 12 inches long by 40 inches wide and 51 inches tall, weighing about 30 pounds. Sold in rustic brown, black, charcoal black, wood grain print and white, they have the model number “ASNG105,” which can be found printed on the side of the packaging box of the product.

The recall, along with others like it that have been reported here at Home News Now, aims to alert consumers, retailers and suppliers of the safety risks involving cloth storage units, particularly those that do not meet the requirements of the STURDY Act. It also gives them an opportunity to label and market their own products as safer for consumers and their families, particularly if they have been developed and tested to meet the requirements of the federal safety standard.

The CPSC has advised consumers to immediately stop using the recalled dressers if they are not anchored to a wall and place them in an area that children cannot access.

They can also contact WLIVE for instructions on how to dispose of the dressers in order to receive a full refund. To receive a refund, consumers must submit a photo of the disposed dresser to wliveproductrecall@wlivehome.com.

The CPSC said that WLIVE and Amazon are contacting all known purchasers directly.

For additional information, consumers can contact WLIVE at 833-367-7572 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. PT Monday through Friday or via email at wliveproductrecall@wlivehome.com. Or they can visit http://wlivehome.com/ and click “Recall” at the top of the page.
