CIN Week 4 looks at planned mattress buying trends

In this latest installment of Consumer Insights Now, sponsored by American First Finance, we offer a deep dive into spending plans in the mattress segment. A key takeaway is that four out of 10 consumers surveyed plan to buy a mattress in the next several months. Those planning to buy at the highest rates include existing homeowners and consumers planning to buy a new home, GenXers, baby boomers, and shoppers with excellent credit scores.

Key qualities they look for include comfort, which is most often paired with support, firmness, softness, durability and quality. Other insights include how much consumers plan to spend, the type of mattress they prefer and important mattress features. Another big takeaway?
