CPSC announces recall of more clothing storage units sold on Amazon

Soowery 6-drawer dressers are unstable if not anchored to the wall, posing a tip-over hazard that can harm children

WASHINGTON — The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced the recall of another 166 clothing storage units sold on Amazon that pose a tip-over hazard that can harm children.

The recall involves Soowery six-drawer dressers that come in a black finish and have a metal frame, wooden top and six collapsible fabric drawers. They measure 47.2 inches long by 11.8 inches wide by 33.3 inches tall.

While no incidents or injuries have been reported, the agency said that the units are unstable if not anchored to the wall and also violate the mandatory safety standard as required by the STURDY Act.

Made in China, the units were sold on Amazon.com from December 2025 through January 2026 for about $130.

The CPSC has advised consumers to immediately stop using the recalled dressers if they are not anchored to the wall and move them to an area that children cannot access.

They also have been advised to write the word “recalled” with a permanent market on the top and all sides of the dresser and contact Soowery for instructions on how to dispose of the dressers in order to receive a full refund. They also must submit a photo showing them disposing of the product to SOOWERYrecall@outlook.com.
