Armen Living acquires Uwharrie Chair Company

HIGH POINT, N.C. — California-based full-line home furnishings company Armen Living has acquired North Carolina outdoor manufacturer Uwharrie Chair Company.

Uwharrie Chair will operate as a separate brand from Armen Living, with its own distinct website. All existing staff, including Uwharrie Chair owner Erica Lloyd, will stay on with the company.

“We are excited to share the news of our purchase of the Uwharrie Chair Company, and to grow the Armen Living family by joining forces with their team,“ said Kevin Kevonian, owner, president and CEO of Armen Living “This change in ownership will unlock limitless possibilities in design and add significant fuel to the future growth of their company. Providing new resources to their business, and expanding their customer base, which will preserve the company’s legacy of manufacturing beautifully made outdoor furniture that resonates with trade buyers and designers all across the country.”

Uwharrie Chair specializes in customizable, Made in America outdoor furnishings crafted of HDPE and kiln-dried, pressure-treated yellow pine in North Carolina. Armen Living launched its outdoor division five years ago and has expanded significantly with a range of introductions and a new showroom at Casual Market Atlanta.

Lloyd said this acquisition will allow Uwharrie Chair to grow in a way not possible before joining forces with Armen Living.

“Uwharrie Chair Company has always been about craftsmanship, durability and doing right by our customers. I’m proud of what we’ve built, and I’m confident Armen Living is the right partner to carry that legacy forward—with the resources to help Uwharrie grow while staying true to what makes it special,” Lloyd said. “With the scale, operational support, and a shared commitment to product integrity that Armen Living brings to the table, I believe this transition positions the brand for meaningful growth without losing the authenticity that defines Uwharrie.”

Armen Living will display Uwharrie Chair Company’s line at the upcoming winter Atlanta Market, Jan. 12-19, showroom B1-6-A2, and Las Vegas Market, Jan. 25-29, in showroom B-7-B762.
