Lake House includes 74 pieces of bedroom, dining, occasional and accent furniture
HIGH POINT — Legacy Classic | Modern Furniture is set to introduce its second licensed collection with Country Living at the fall High Point Market.
Described as “a fresh take on classic Americana and rustic design with a cozy, relaxed and homey tone,” the new whole-home Lake House collection has about 74 pieces, which includes some items available in several finish options.
Made with rustic birch veneers and hardwoods, the core finishes in the Lake House collection include a midtone brown Pinecone finish, a darker Dried Tobacco tone and a neutral painted finish, Sail Cloth. Accent finishes available on select pieces include Sea Glass and Golden Hour.

“These unique finishes truly capture the colors and tones you would see in nature and would expect to find in a rustic retreat,” the company said, adding that there also will be two-tone finish combinations offered on key items including dining tables.
There are five different beds offered in multiple finishes including a Jenny Lind-inspired bobbin bed and a two-tone shutter panel bed, plus, twin and full-sized beds and a bunk bed. Companion case pieces including a bobbin armoire also are offered in multiple finishes.
In dining, there are four tables, including a plank-inspired trestle table and a round bobbin-base table, plus a mix of coordinating chairs and counter-height chairs and companion case pieces. Dining tables also are available in multiple finishes, including a two-tone application. Several multifunctional occasional, entertainment and accent items are also part of the collection.
The collection also incorporates mixed-media elements such as rattan, metal and leather as well as hardware in wood and dark Antiqued Pewter tones.
“Legacy believes the market and consumers are ready for furniture that is warm, cozy, inviting and nostalgic. Furniture that makes you ‘Feel at Home’,” said Chris Pelcher, president of Legacy Classic | Modern. “The market continues to be heavy with clean white and gray finishes, straight angles, chrome and modern, minimalist looks. We see a void for more traditional styles with personality, pieces that consumers feel connected to.”

The company also said it believes that “life in the country” has become a more relatable and aspirational lifestyle in recent years.
“Country Living offers a powerful differentiation at retail and offers significant value to our partners and end consumers,” Pelcher added. “Country Living and (parent company) Hearst have been instrumental in the collaboration and marketing support, which offers a true distinction from other brands and furniture.”
The company said the debut Country Living Home collection, Vintage Market, which launched last fall, “was a hit with retailers and resonated with the need for lifestyle collections with timeless appeal.”
“With Vintage Market hitting floors recently, we are seeing many successes at retail and that consumers are responding positively,” Pelcher said. “Some retailers have already sold out of their first shipments and are ordering more.”
Officials noted that Lake House “will offer consumers the ability to easily create eclectic looks by mixing items within the
collections,” while also tapping into Country Living’s estimated audience of 30 million consumers throughout the U.S.
“Lake House builds on the success of our first Country Living Home collection and expands the story we’re telling with furniture and homes,” said Angela Kim, executive director of licensing at Hearst Magazines. “With Legacy’s craftsmanship and Country Living’s timeless design sensibility, we’ve curated fresh ways to bring country charm into their everyday lives.”
At market, the collection can be seen at Legacy’s showroom at 2622 Uwharrie Road in High Point.
This partnership was brokered by Brand Capital Marketing, Country Living’s exclusive licensing representative.
