After 20 years, the full-line furniture resource is moving from its former Forbidden City showroom in time for October High Point Market
HIGH POINT — In an investment valued at more than $10 million, full-line furniture resource Lifestyle Enterprise has acquired the former U.S. Post Office Building downtown, a move that represents its first acquisition in High Point and its first move to a new space in 20 years.
The more than 50,000-square-foot building at 100 E. Green St., which was first built in 1934, will be the company’s flagship showroom downtown. Moving from its former leased space at 320 E. Commerce Ave., Lifestyle will occupy the building in time for the October High Point Market.
The company acquired the building from JLA Home on July 18.
Lifestyle’s former showroom on Commerce was inspired by the famed Forbidden City in Beijing. Back when the company first moved there in the mid-2000s, it showcased Chinese artifacts as part of the Forbidden City theme, although the primary draw was its high-value case goods, which later expanded into full upholstery collections and later youth furniture and massage chairs.
Moving into the historic building will consolidate two Lifestyle showrooms — the one at 320 E. Commerce and a smaller location at Market on Green — allowing it to show its full line of case goods and upholstery in a single building. Each building currently showcases product in roughly 18,000 square feet of space, the company told Home News Now.

“Spanning more than 50,000 square feet across three floors, the new space provides a dynamic platform to display the company’s extensive product portfolio, introduce emerging categories and highlight its dedication to quality, innovation and exceptional value,” the company said.
“Acquiring this showroom in High Point and uniting our entire team under one roof represents a significant milestone for Lifestyle Enterprise,” said Michael Hsieh, chief executive officer. “This investment creates a centralized hub where our partners and customers can fully experience our products and appreciate the strong value proposition we bring to the industry.”
The company said the showroom will officially open to the trade at the October High Point Market, “featuring a grand celebration to showcase new product expansions and category launches. This new showroom is more than a physical space — it’s the foundation of a lasting legacy for Lifestyle.”

“The building’s timeless strength and craftsmanship align closely with Lifestyle Enterprise’s foundational principles of relationships, commitments and values,” the company added. “With deep roots in the global furniture community and more than 30 years of exhibiting at the High Point Market, the Hsieh family’s decision to establish a permanent presence here underscores the company’s commitment to long-term growth and evolution.”
